Salvador Dali, born in Spain in 1989 created art based upon his unusual dreams and interesting imagination. Wild imagination, sounds like a kid right? This week, Monet & Me embraces each student’s “wild” imagination as we celebrate Dali!
Dali is most known for his surrealist work, now some of you may be wondering what is surrealism? Surrealism is an art movement founded in Paris by a small group of writers and artists who sought to channel the unconscious as a means to unlock the power of the imagination. What is the finished product of a surrealistic painter? A very far-out composition!
Dali in love: His model, muse and true love, Gala served as constant inspiration throughout his creative career until his death in 1989. Traveling to Florida for a vacation this spring? Visit The Dali Museum in St. Petersburg where you can find a large collection of his work, as well as other artistic legends including one of our favorites, Picasso. http://www.thedali.org
