While Monet and Me focuses on providing enriching art classes for kids in Austin and West Lake Hills, we also love to work with parents to throw unique, funart birthday partiesthat kids will love. Here are 7 of our favorite art birthday party ideas so far!
Woof, Woof! Does your child love dogs? For a Bridgepoint Elementary 5th Graders birthday party this Fall, we taught each child to draw their favorite type of puppy with a fun, colorful background. Each child was able to take home their own canvas picture to hang up on their wall afterwards as the party favor!
Fun With Frozen
Let it go, Let it go... If your child loves the movie Frozen as much as Annelise Page does, they will love the chance to paint Olaf, the lovable snowman character from the movie. For older kids, drawing Princesses Ana and Elsa could also be fun (and a bit more challenging). Either way, a piece of Frozen-inspired art is a fun way for kids to be a part of a movie they love!
Mmmmm...The only thing more fun than eating cupcakes is drawing them! For Charlsie Yarger's sweets-inspired birthday party, all of the kids were able to draw tasty-looking cupcakes on canvases and "decorate" them to their choosing! As you can see here, at Monet and Me we inspire kids to express their individual creativity rather than "draw between the lines", so each piece of art is unique to each child!
Spider-Man At Monet & Me, we can't teach your child to swing from building to building in a single bound, but we can teach them to draw the super-hero who can! At Peter Parker look-alike Ryder's fun birthday party this fall, we all had fun learning to draw Spider-Man. If your child loves this super-hero, they will love feeling like a super-artist with a handmade canvas of him on the wall!
Drawing and Dancing, what a wonderful combination! To celebrate the work of Degas and his "dancers", this year during Monet and Me's art classes for kids we had a lesson where we learned to draw spinning ballerinas. These pieces of art on canvas came out beautiful and were a big hit with parents, so if your child is a dancer or loves ballerinas, they would be great for a music-inspired art birthday party!
Does your child love being just a little different than their peers? One of our favorite American artists is George Rodrigue, who was famous for drawing his unique blue dog with a distinctive white nose. Our kids had so much fun putting their own creative spin on this classic image, and it was made even better by reading the story "Why is Blue Dog Blue?, which explains how blue dog came to be. By showing that dogs can be blue in art even if they can't be in real life- this lesson is a fun way to open children's minds to the freedom of their own creativity!
If you would like an educational aspect for your child's party, Monet & Me can help you pick a famous artist of interest to your child and help them learn how to draw or paint like them! Whether it's Frida Kahlo's Self Portrait, Van Gough's Starry Night, Cezanne's Pears, Pollock's splatter-paint, or the colorful Faces of Picasso, your child and their friends will enjoy learning about an individual creative legend as we help them emulate their style. This is a great way to start an art education at an early age!
Bonus- Use Your Own Creativity!
As Monet & Me, our teaching artists can customize a birthday party to your child's unique interests and passions. Tell us what they love, and we are happy to put together a plan to give them an unforgettable birthday party! Monet & Me can host your party at our location at Saint Michael's church in Westlake or conveniently in your home. Even better- Monet & Me birthday parties mean you don't have to worry about party favors- each child goes home with a beautiful piece of art they will be proud to show their parents!
